Social Media Coordinator

Help Us Help is seeking a creative, digitally savvy, and proactive Social Media Coordinator to strengthen engagement with our supporters and bring our mission to life online. Based in our Toronto office and Reporting to the Communications and Events Coordinator, the successful candidate will support digital communications, advocacy efforts, and campaign execution to enhance the organization’s visibility and reach.

  • Key Responsibilities 

    Communication and Content Creation

    • Participate in training on the organization’s mission, values, long-standing programs, and donor/volunteer engagement practices, as well as digital tools including eTapestry, JustGiving, Excel, Canva, and Squarespace. 

    • Must have a clear understanding of brand voice, audience needs and workflow expectations.

    • Draft, edit and format high-quality press releases, donor communications, newsletters, and marketing materials that reflect the organizational priorities. Maintain consistent branding, tone, and storytelling techniques. 

    • Ensure all written and visual content aligns with Help Us Help’s mission, demonstrates sensitivity, and speaks effectively to the organization's diverse target audiences. 

    • Communication strategies must reflect our trauma-informed and culturally aware approach, particularly in relation to Ukrainian youth and communities. 

    Social Media

    • Support planning, scheduling and day-to-day posting for multiple Help Us Help projects and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X. This includes development of platform-specific micro-campaigns and content strategies.

    • Develop visually engaging and strategically aligned content tailored to each platform’s audience and format 

    • Respond to online inquiries and collaborate with potential partners or community members to strengthen digital engagement and reach 

    Website and Digital Management 

    • Support management and updates on the Help Us Help website using Squarespace 

    • Ensure all web content is accurate, accessible, mobile friendly and user-centered 

    • Support improvements to layout, navigation, web design consistency and digital organization of online assets 

    Marketing and Collaboration

    • Collaborate with the Communications and Events Coordinator a communications and content plan informed by historical project data and current initiatives 

    • Adapt to evolving priorities within a collaborative non-profit environment and support team members as needed

    • Provide assistance with fundraisers, donor drives, and event communications

    Digital Skills Development

    • Gain hands-on experience with key digital tools: Squarespace website management; Canva and digital media tools; eTapestry donor database; Analytics dashboards and Excel

    • Contribute to web content management and digital design tasks 

    • Assist with data preparation tasks (data cleaning, categorizing and labeling) used for automated or AI assisted workflows used in communications and digital organization 

    • Use AI-enabled platforms for design assistants to support efficiency 

    • Help automate repetitive tasks such as templated communications, content organization, digital file management

Given the modest full-time staff, teamwork is integral to this role. Given our collaborative team environment, this role requires adaptability and flexibility in responsibilities, including supporting evolving organizational priorities set by the Help Us Help Board of Directors and the Executive Director. Social Media Coordinator collaborates closely with and reports to the Communications and Events Coordinator, who reports to the Executive Director of Help Us Help.

    Qualifications

    • While prior experience is not required, strong consideration will be given to candidates with experience in communications, events coordination, fundraising, or related nonprofit work. 

    • Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian is considered a strong asset.

Junior Project Administrator

Help Us Help is seeking a highly organized, reliable and detail-oriented Junior Project Administrator to be responsible for assisting in planning and execution of the Help Us Help’s Summer Camp 2026 program. Emphasis will be on participant engagement, volunteer recruitment, supply procurement, and reporting. Working out of the Help Us Help office in Toronto, the  Junior Project Administrator will be collaborating with and directly report to the Program Manager.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Program Manager in the planning and execution of the Help Us Help’s Summer Camp 2026 program, including participant engagement, volunteer recruitment, supply procurement, and reporting

    • Offer support to the Program Manager as required

Community Development Coordinator

Help Us Help is seeking a passionate, empathetic and relationship-focused Community Development Coordinator to be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community partners, beneficiaries, volunteers and donors. Working out of the Help Us Help office in Toronto, the Community Development Coordinator will collaborate with all the Help Us Help team members reporting to the Project Administration Officer and Executive Director.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Community Engagement & Outreach Build and maintain relationships with community partners, beneficiaries, volunteers, donors, and organizations serving Ukrainians to support Help Us Help’s humanitarian and youth programs. 

    • Engage with Ukrainian youth, families, and community groups to support inclusive, accessible, and responsive community programming. 

    • Participate in community events, fundraisers, outreach activities, and information sessions to increase awareness of Help Us Help’s programs and services.

    • Support partnership development by identifying opportunities for collaboration with Ukrainian-based organizations, including CYM, Plast Toronto, and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress. 

    • Gather community feedback and share insights with the Program Manager to support program improvement and community responsiveness. 

    • Volunteer Engagement & Support Assist with volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for community events, aid distributions, youth programs, and fundraising activities. 

    • Support volunteers during activities by communicating expectations, safety guidelines, and promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment.

    • Track volunteer participation and hours for internal records, reporting, and donor recognition.

    • Help develop simple volunteer tools such as schedules, checklists, and guides to support organized and consistent volunteer engagement.

    • Provide on-site support during events to ensure volunteers are prepared and activities align with program goals.

    • Assist with the coordination of humanitarian aid and community programs, including basic logistics, communication with participants, and activity documentation.

    • Support the organization of youth programs and camps by helping coordinate schedules, participants, materials, and communications.

    • Maintain accurate program records, including participation lists, feedback, and basic monitoring data to support reporting and evaluation.

    • Support program delivery in accordance with safety guidelines, ethical practices, and sensitivity to individuals affected by conflict, displacement, and institutional care. 

    • Assist with community communications by posting program updates and engagement content on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X). 

    • Support fundraising and donor engagement activities by helping prepare materials, assisting at events, and supporting community outreach efforts.
