Scholars

The Scholars Program helps orphaned children obtain post-secondary education in Ukraine. The program eases the financial burden for students and organizes leadership and life-skills workshops to assist in their development.

Our selection committee nominates camp attendees based on leadership, scholastic merit, extracurricular activities, and their commitment to a positive lifestyle. During their time in the program, scholarship students annually attend Help Us Help’s Summer and Winter camps and play a mentorship role to younger children on a similar life path.

Your Questions Answered!

How many students are participating in the 2020-2021 Scholarship Program?

This year, Help Us Help is supporting 33 Scholarship Students!

How often does Help Us Help accept Scholarship Students?

Help Us Help accepts Scholarship Students on an annual basis. The students go through an interview process with Help Us Help staff prior to the start of the academic year to determine their eligibility.

I can’t afford to give $2000 CAD. Can I still contribute somehow?

Yes! Although some donors choose to financially support a student’s entire stipend, we welcome any and all financial contributions to the program! The cumulative funds raised for the program can either be used to support a student in the program or to aid in the development of workshops that help these students gain the necessary life-skills to become an independent and contributing member of society.

How many students has the charity helped over the years?

There are over 300 past participants of Help Us Help’s Scholarship Program!

Is there a limit to the number of students you accept?

The number of students Help Us Help accepts changes annually depending on: funds, number of eligible applicants, and staff capacity. More financial support can lead to a larger quantity of students being able to benefit from the program and/or to increasing the quality of the programming being delivered!
